December 2014

President’s Message
It’s been a hectic and somewhat turbulent year for me and so many others. Yet I can’t help but be so grateful for the changes that follow in the wake.

I’ve been looking for the right words to express some of it, and found what Stephanie Austin ( ) had to say so perfect, I opted just to replay her Nov. piece for you all:

“Even in frenetic cultures and times, Thanksgiving can be much more than a one day celebration. Animal communicator Mary Getten shares this message from Granny, the oldest orca known to be alive (born in 1911, 103 years old): "Giving thanks is not something that you should do once a year. It is something that you should live and breathe each and every moment of every single day... Start by being grateful that you are alive... Be grateful that there is an intelligence and wisdom in the universe, and that you are not alone. Be grateful that there is air to breathe and water to drink and food to eat. Even in your darkest hour, there are many, many things to be grateful for..."

Gratitude opens the heart, feeds the soul, and unlocks the door to true prosperity and abundance. Try some of these practices and watch how your relationships and life change:

1. Keep a gratitude journal. First thing in the morning, and/or last thing at night, write down five things that you are grateful for.
2. Make a habit of expressing at least three ‘appreciations’ a day telling people you work, play, and/or live with what you value and admire about them.
3. Give a free and priceless gift to friends and family, coworkers and a list of what you are thankful for about them and their presence in your life.
4. Pray for strangers. Bless the other drivers on the road. Bless the animals and trees. Give thanks for the Sun, for the rain, for the gift of life on Earth.

What are you grateful for? What is your prayer for the world? Where do you need to take a leap of faith? Remember that “Every day is an opportunity to be creative — the canvas is your mind, the brushes and colors are your thoughts and feelings, the panorama is your story, the complete picture is a work of art called ‘my life.’ Be careful what you put on the canvas of your mind today — it matters.” (Unknown author)
