Instant Inspiration

"When feeling flooded by emotions and thoughts, people often feel overwhelmed. First, realize that you can pare down your options to two: where do you focus your attention, and what are you going to do? Any choice you make can be put in one of these two categories, attention and action." - From an upcoming book by our next speaker, John Kinyon and his coauthor Ike Lasiter.

President’s Message
Marijke favorite

Coming off yet another wonderful monthly gathering, it’s so incredibly clear to us that when we have a resonant speaker, the enthusiasm within our membership goes up exponentially. We are sure that there are powerful and inspiring speakers within our membership, or ones you know and would like to recommend? Our roster for this year is almost full, and we’re trying to keep the excitement thriving well into 2016!

Having said that, we feel both honored and excited to welcome our next speaker, John Kinyon who will talk about “The Power of Conflict” on May 13th. Please register ASAP for this upcoming event, and put it on your calendar as something you won’t want to miss!

International coaching week is also taking place in May from the 18th until the 24th. There is still room for you to participate in spreading the word and knowledge of coaching with all other chapters of ICF-Global.

We are also excited to see how many of you have registered to meet with the ICF-Global Board in June when they convene in San Francisco for their scheduled meeting. At this point the event is full to capacity, but we’re very much looking forward to meeting so many of you whom we might not already know!

We’re always grateful to have you be part of our membership, and would love to hear from you if you ideas about how we could serve you even better in the months to come.

“Togetherness in Community is far more Powerful than Alone.”

—Marijke Hallberg

Important Changes in Membership

In early 2015, our parent organization, the International Coaching Federation (ICF) made changes to membership policies which in turn can affect SFBAC members. Basically, ICF now requires that local chapter members also be members of Global ICF. ICF Global’s rationale for their change:  “This policy change will help advance the reach of professional coaching worldwide by further strengthening ICF’s already-vibrant global community, and will align the membership requirements of local chapters with ICF Global’s membership requirements.”

SFBAC has met this organizational challenge in the following way: If a person is not interested in ICF Global membership, but wishes to be part of SFBAC, we offer an Affiliate relationship. We’ve also prepared a detailed webpage about the change, and our response to it. You can find it by clicking here.

Every person who wishes to connect to SFBAC is important to SFBAC leadership. We look forward to working with everyone who wishes to be part of a vibrant community advancing coaching and consciousness in the world.

The Leadership Circle Profile is:

•  More Revealing–It 's the only 360 linking leadership competencies to core beliefs governing behavior.

•  More Advanced–Instantly reveals key opportunities for your executive’s development. No reams of documentation. Enables coaching to start at a breakthrough rather than require months trying to reach one.

•  More Than Just an Assessment–Rich theoretical underpinnings of LCP provide pathways to transformation. No other tool offers this.

•  More Efficient–It's easy to use. Allows a coach to meet leaders “where they are” without spending valuable coaching time finding out where that is.

"After nearly 1000 coaching sessions with many instruments, LCP has led to the best 1-on-1 coaching sessions I have EVER experienced! It goes beyond feedback on behaviors and competencies (which it includes) to the source: core beliefs and assumptions out of which those behaviors live." David Womeldorff, author, coach, Former Consulting Director of Bank One Corporation’s Learning and Leadership Development.
