 President’s Message

Oh how I love September - the end of summer and the beginning of the Fall season. Being a fall-baby, I am partial to the cooler, (and historically) rainy season. It is also the time when we start planning for the new business year by reviewing our successes, our struggles and choose which opportunities we will commit to in the coming year.

There are many accomplishments we, as a chapter and as a board, can celebrate - and it’s only September!

  • We listened to you, and integrated quarterly interactive networking chapter meetings that are focused on making deeper connection with each other and helping each other grow our businesses;

  • Our program speakers have all focused on our 4 cornerstone objectives: connection, creativity, competency and commerce;

  • We have initiated a board leadership continuity plan that has expanded the board, which will provide for smooth transitions, less stress (no burnout), and more fun;

  • We will be launching our new and SIGNIFICANTLY improved website that will be focused on making your experience in finding resources, and helping potential clients find the right coach, easier, interesting and helpful (you will find more on this later in the newsletter);

  • We took International Coaching Week and transformed it virally into a month-long set of activities that was adopted by several other chapters on the West Coast and other chapters excited to join in next year;

  • SFBAC has grown as a chapter to 290 members!

All of this would not have been possible without every single member’s participation - whether it is showing up to meetings and sharing your ideas with us, signing up for the community & business conference interactive coaching events, volunteering to help to coordinate or manage one of these events, or to serve as a member of the SFBAC board, it takes many individuals to make these things happen.

As we look ahead to 2017, we have scheduled an off-site strategic planning retreat on November 19th. If you are interested in contributing ideas, please send me an email. We will also be looking for several new board members - some for ongoing positions, and a couple of new positions we realize are needed. If you are interested in learning more about becoming part of a Rock-Star Board, let me know. I’m easy to reach: We’re listening!
